During this 2 day class you will learn how to cover, stack and decorate a 2 tier beautifully decorated wedding cake and how to make stunning sugar flowers and decorations. We also teach you how to make exquisite sugar roses, peonies, filler flowers and decorations including a wired floral arrangement. We teach in a relaxed and informal manner. ...and, as always, whether you want to make cakes as a hobby, for a wedding, or to start your own business, Rosalind is happy to answer any questions you can throw at her.
Slicing and filling • We start with a detailed demonstration of how to easily level and slice your cake, and fill with tasty fillings
Covering and stacking • Learn how to cover a cake smoothly using marzipan and sugarpaste without creasing or tearing. • How to cover a base board. • Using dowels for supporting tiers and securely stacking your cakes Sugar Flowers • How to make exquisite lifelike sugar roses, peonies and filler flowers • Wiring your flowers into a gorgeous arrangement for the top of the cake
Decorating your Cake • Adding ribbons and attaching your decorations
You will need to bring an 8" diameter and 3" high cake with you. A recipe will be supplied for this when you book. All other ingredients and equipment for the day are provided, you will also need to bring an apron and some lunch.
